Sarah Pett

Early Career Researcher and Teacher (SOAS)

Friday 9 March marked the University of York’s memorial day for Professor Jane Moody.  Director of the Humanities Research Centre and Professor of English at the University of York, Jane died in October 2011. An inspiring advocate of engaged universities and unflagging supporter of postgraduates, Jane’s legacy has been, and will continue to be, profound. In keeping with Jane’s spirit of innovation, I decided to capture the event and responses to it in my first Storify, complete with the recipe for her signature clementine cake: Remembering Jane.

Some fellow PGRs and I have decided to keep the many conversations she initiated going on twitter, with the hashtags #celebrating jane and #whythehumanities – watch this space!
